Triumph And Beyond

Morts With their second full-length release I feel like the band is still mapping its way and hasn't reached the stability we will see from them in the near future. All in all, though, this is still a great recording with plenty of crowd favourites to keep 'em moshing at the live gigs for years to come! Favorite track: Two Pints Of Honey And A Barrel Full Of Beer.

1.
Unto the skies we ascend Our freedom unfrozen Mighty men, victors at war Still alive, we strive For triumph and beyond!
2.
Lo, warriors Who stormed across the sea Unleash your rage Fight with a bear's fury Oh, brothers These beasts we shall defy An alliance of noble man Wrath shall see them die We are enslaved And we shall never meet again The night is cold But our hearts are warm And when we say That we shall never meet again Our hearts and swords They shall live on Go, heroes Onwards to the fields we ride No fear of death With brothers by our side Behold, defenders Who bravely guard our land Your pure swords and mighty shields Shall be revoked at our hand We are enslaved And we shall never meet again The night is cold But our hearts are warm And when we say That we shall never meet again Our hearts and swords They shall live on
3.
Face to face Sword to dark gesture Here lies a man Tainted by war Creator of lore Ready to fight I have found a tribe To follow me right to the end of the line Protecting our frontline of ravenous troops Mysterious ways of tackling the frays Diversions shall craft our victorious blades Dismembering innards of territory thieves Show no fear Fight the infection Smash immorality So they cannot attain The energy drained Ready to fight I have found a tribe To follow me right to the end of the line Protecting our frontline of ravenous troops Mysterious ways of tackling the frays Diversions shall craft our victorious blades Dismembering innards of territory thieves Tearing through the rays of the sun Warriors marches on Fighting through the rage of the storm Warriors marches on

Dwelling fearlessly Far from settled realms Surrounded by animals, swords, staffs and helms He has no need for riches or goods For he is the mystical hermit of the woods Through the morning fields of dew he walks And the languages of all sorts he talks He can be seen donning different coloured hoods For he is the mystical hermit of the woods
5.
This sacred realm With soils still lacking life Possessors leading it's demise Hey, hey, people of the hoods Can you hear their cries? It's hard to listen through those pounding vicious lies See the light unfold beneath your eyes As the rains pours down tonight You can hear the thousand thunders through the skies The truths are blowing Above lifeless souvenirs below Destroyed from swallowing deceit Hey, hey, people of the realm Hold your iron high This venom shall poison our ground Unless our courage unleashed Our branches long for life To seek the truth One must be prepared To hear what is frightening to hear To advance in triumph To trounce and prosper Nightmares that haunt the calm That crashes and flows Through tranquil waters and streams Through dreams of hope We shall fight to claim our territory Our courage shall bring this victory
6.
Like a boar he is hunted The battleguards stalk him in the fields It's peace they can't let him take So onward he fights That mighty battling boar And soon ye shall smell the fire Drifting through the winter sky All sensations of ire will die To become at one with the firmament and rise Triumph and beyond Victors in war Honour is sound To our abode we are bound Exalt in conquest Triumph and beyond Victors in war Still alive And we strive For triumph and beyond Restlessly dodging the arrows That fires from the towers up above To retain this courageous force They shan't drain his life Hunted forevermore The enchanting stream is calling to the world But it's whispers disperse in the cold Strive past the vigorous tide Flow gently and recall the reasons you ride And soon ye shall smell the fire Drifting through the winter sky All sensations of ire will die To become at one with the firmament and rise Triumph and beyond Victors in war Honour is sound To our abode we are bound Exalt in conquest Triumph and beyond Victors in war Still alive And we strive For triumph and beyond Long before the sun will rise Long before the night will fade Lies an ancient feeling from inside Feel winter's embrace Long before the sky is clear Long before daylight draws near Lies an ancient feeling from inside For triumph and beyond

The Lake 04:03
Down the shimmerin' lake 'pon the sludgy earth 'neath the glimmerin' stars Hear the water sing Alone in fields so green I lay As the winds passes I slip away So lonely out here I cannot bear Oh how I long to feel her hair As it blows Lo, now, the breezes is coming They drift my soul deep into the night I bid farewell to the air for it's cold out there I will take my mind but leave my body behind Deeper I treat to water and sand Growing nearer to holding her hand I know that I'm needed but I cannot bear Being out here while she is out there i must go Lo, now, the breezes is coming They drift my soul deep into the night I bid farewell to the air for it's cold out there I will take my mind but leave my body behind And when those troubles find you We'll meet again Down at Lake Lyunykyn And when those troubles find you We'll meet again Down at Lake Lyunykyn I am the lake

Settled in a covert cavern It's clandestine and sheltered here Far below immoral deeds transpiring on the grounds up there Seeking for a conspiracy A crafty plot to regain our home Intuitions halt the discourse We are not alone Rodents gnawing through the hearts of every man Creeping, intruding on a private battle plan As we speak of tales in here with latches shut Hear them scurry in this rat infested hut This veiled abode Contaminated with imposters We'll decimate this rat infested hut Sneaking in from the horizon Leaving footprints in the sands Executing corrupt gestures in our own consecrated lands Tear apart another dwelling Sniffing out their vile stench Trust and faith are now archaic Defend the freedom that we quench Rodents, gnashing at our limbs and snarling menacingly Creeping, trying to avoid our axes swinging swiftly As we dwell among ourselves in here with latches shut We must now exterminate this rat infested hut We’ll decimate this rat infested hut This veiled abode Contaminated with imposters We'll decimate this rat infested hut

Home again yon brothers of the land Gather round those wooden chairs And sing hand in hand A long time we have been gone And haven’t partied in a year So let’s have two pints of honey and a barrel full of beer Two pints of honey and a barrel full of beer We shall enjoy this night tonight as peril is not near Sing with me darling My dear do not fear Let’s have two pints of honey and a barrel full of beer Dance with me lady We’ll dance the night away Join the song, sing along In my arms ye shall stay If you snuggle up close you’ll hear me whisper in your ear “Let’s have two pints of honey and a barrel full of beer” Two pints of honey and a barrel full of beer We shall enjoy this night tonight as peril is not near Sing with me darling My dear do not fear Let’s have two pints of honey and a barrel full of beer

about

Warriors, battles, beer, rats, huts, psychic vampires, bad grammar and plenty more, all leading to the ultimate concept of Triumph (winning battles) and Beyond (getting drunk to celebrate).

Cabba talks about each of the songs to give a bit of insight into the album.

Enjoy!
